Major update #1: Achievements, Articles and Emoji’s

Like the chefs in the kitchen of a busy restaurant we’ve been working hard to cook something special and we’re excited to finally be able to talk about it.

Today we announce the first major update to the site which adds a plethora of features designed to give the user a better core experience. We’ll go through each new feature in this blog post but first we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support since our launch three weeks ago. We’re very happy with the reception from our users and the progress we’ve made so far and we hope that this update goes a long way towards furthering that progress. Now, let’s get into the new features added in this update:

Articles

As you’ve probably noticed if you’re reading this blog post we have added an article section to the website! We know it can be tough to get your hard work promoted and we’ve opened our articles section to anyone in the community. This is not just for esports but also for gaming in general, the goal is to give another avenue for the community to highlight their skills for potential work in the future so if you’re an aspiring writer and interested in getting your work out there send us a message.

Sidebars

For better navigation around the site we’ve added a nifty sidebar on various pages. As you may have already noticed this is site-wide and is designed to make things easier for you. It show’s you the newest jobs, latest articles, news from around the web and your achievement score (more on this later). We hope you find the sidebar useful and it should help eliminate the need to click around on various pages to find what you want.

Reaction Emoji’s

This may sound like a simple feature and something that maybe should have been in at launch (frankly, we agree). You can now react with up to seven emoji’s to a message, profile update, image or anything else you find entertaining. We feel this will add more depth to the interactivity around the site and give you the freedom to show more emotion to a reaction rather than just the generic “thumbs up”.

Achievements and Quests

Now this is the feature that we are most excited about telling you about you. We have added the ability for all users to earn points from interacting with the site. Anything from posting an update, to changing your avatar and even just clicking on a webpage, you will accumulate points that go towards your rank. There are four ranks to achieve, beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert and each rank achieved will unlock a free reward from one of our many paid upgrades options.

You can also complete Quests and unlock achievements by fulfilling specific objectives. Achievements are singular objectives such as joining a group or adding a friend while Quests are a collection of objectives. These may be harder to obtain but are definitely worth it for the bragging rights.

To get started, the Achievements Factory page shows all of your completed quests and achievements, your current rank and the all-important leader board, which shows who’s on top and who else is playing catch-up. We believe these new features will give added dimensions to the website and in keeping with the theme of gaming will give the community a little something extra to work towards. There’s nothing wrong with a little friendly competition after all.

We hope you have fun with the new features on offer and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or issue, were always looking for constructive feedback and our community means a lot to us. This is only the start from us so keep an eye out on our social media and on here for update. Time for us to head back into the kitchen.
