Manage and oversee the design and development pillars of our Game Design team to achieve the highest possible quality.

Guerrilla is looking for a Design Director to ensure the vision established by the Game Director is brought to life. As the successful candidate, you will manage and lead our design teams and work with multi-disciplinary teams to create a game of the highest possible quality. Our Design teams consist of Systems Design, World Design, Quest Design, Tech Design and UI Design.

What you will do:

As the Design Director, your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

Work with the Game Director to create and communicate the project vision, playtest results, milestone updates and general design updates to the Design team and the wider team;
Manage, organize and mentor several of the Design disciplines, assisting and supporting them in their learning of good work practices, setting achievable quality standards and goals;
Oversee the design and development of the features and systems needed to achieve the vision and pillars established by the Game Director;
Evaluate the game and playtest results, and present and discuss analyses with the Game Director, and collaborate on plans to increase quality;
Collaborate with Design discipline leads and multidisciplinary teams to design, validate and amend high-level design concepts, features and assets efficiently and to quality;
Collaborate with the data analytics and player research teams to further the understanding of the player experience and quality;
Represent the studio by demonstrating the product to press and PlayStation stakeholders.

Who you are:

We’d love to hear from you when:

You have at least 5 years’ experience multiple AAA games in a Design role and have shipped at least two AAA titles;
You have a broad experience with the various aspects of Game Design;
You have a deep understanding of all phases of AAA game development, from early concepts to post-launch support;
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
You have excellent interpersonal skills;
You have a creative and analytical mind;
You are comfortable speaking to the press or audiences;
You are passionate about games.

It’s a plus if:

You have experience with the development of Open World games.
